East Midlands 2016

Six swimmers from the Colchester Phoenix ASC returned to Colchester in triumph after travelling to Leicester to complete in the gruelling 2016 East Midlands Regional Inclusive Disability Meet.

The Meet which attracted disability swimmers from as far afield as Wales and Scotland gave the ‘Phoenix’ swimmers the opportunity to achieve personal best (Pb’s) times on all their entered individual events.

Swimmers: Veteran swimmer Darren Swash, Team Captain Sam Inman, Chloe Scott, Aaron Dadd, Holly Bocking and new to the competitive stage, Thomas Banes competed in a total of twenty-six individuals events plus competed in four relay team events.

All the swimmers who train at Colchester Leisure World and the Garrison Pool swam to victory by achieving a total sixteen medals between them.

Team Captain, Sam Inman said. “The meet was gruelling but very competitive. It gave the “Phoenix” swimmers the opportunity to show their true competitive spirit”. End.
